Cheryl Burke on 'DWTS' Changes, Quarantining with Matthew Lawrence, and Her New Diamond Art Club Kits
Dancer Cheryl Burke dished with "Extra's" Jenn Lahmers about all things "Dancing with the Stars" and quarantining at home with her handsome husband, Matthew Lawrence.
Cheryl revealed that Matthew gave her the sweetest gift ever to celebrate their first wedding anniversary in May! "He got me a new puppy! Her name is Ysabella, she's adorable, she's our little Frenchie that just loves peeing everywhere... I need to replace all the furniture!"

View StoryBurke said that overall, her extra time at home with Matthew was not a big adjustment. "We're naturally introverts in general — we like being home." She does, however, sometimes get the urge to be more active, admitting, "I do miss dancing, but I have been boxing."
And will Cheryl return for Season 29 of "Dancing with the Stars"? "I would love to," she said, but stressed, "We don't know yet."
Weighing in on all the big changes in store for the show, with incoming executive producer Tyra Banks replacing Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as host, Burke said, "I feel a little bit sad — a lot sad. Tom has been my dance dad... We have been there from the beginning... Tom there from the first season, I was there since the second. My heart sank when I found out... They are family and they will always be family."
As for the reason behind the changes, she speculated, "Maybe the executives thought it was time to evolve a little bit. I have never met Tyra before, but I have only heard great things. She has so much energy, and I think she loves to dance."
The show is full-contact, so what will happen with filming during the pandemic? "I believe that we are all going to have time slots," she revealed. "When it comes to cameras, I think everything is gonna be a lot less and stripped back, no audience."
In the meantime, Burke is keeping busy during quarantine, preparing to launch a mask line with Bailey Blue and collaborating with Diamond Art Club on new diamond-art kits that are on sale now.
"I have four that are launching," the budding artist said excitedly. "You have everything you need in this kit... I use all those Swarovski rhinestones off our costumes and get creative."
