"We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we've never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn't enough," she wrote alongside a photo showing her desperately praying in a hospital.
Explaining how they came to name their son, she wrote, "We never decide on our babies' names until the last possible moment after they're born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever."
She also apologized to Jack, writing, "To our Jack - I'm so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn't give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you."
As mournful as the post was, Teigen ended it with deep expressions of gratitude: "Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you. We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we've been able to experience. But everyday can't be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it."
After leaving the hospital, Teigen tweeted, "Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real."
After the sad news broke, Kim Kardashian wrote on Instagram, "We're always here for you and love you guys so much.”
Paris Hilton wrote, "My heart breaks for you and John. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family so much love. Love you beautiful ❤❤❤❤.”
Channing Tatum said, "I'm so so sorry. Thinking of you and John, praying for you guys and sending you so much love during this time. ❤."

This week, Teigen revealed she was still hospitalized following excessive bleeding during the pregnancy.
On Tuesday, Teigen opened up about her “really scary morning,” tweeting, “huge clot, almost save-worthy.”
Teigen also revealed that it was somewhat difficult to hear her unborn son's heartbeat, writing, “The scramble to hear the heartbeat seemed like hours. I never thought I'd relief sigh so much in my liiiiife.”
The day before, Teigen took to social media to share an update on her health. She told her Instagram followers, “hello from hospital. about to have my second blood transfusion which truly truly truly sounds more dramatic than it is. It's an IV, but instead of fluids, the blood of some kind human being out there. Baby and I are completely fine, just missing the little things like walking...cooking...playing with the other buttbutts."
On her Instagram Story, Teigen stressed the importance of donating blood, saying, “I got the blood of somebody, so if you donate blood, it goes to actual people, people that might be me."
Before being admitted to the hospital, Teigen was on bed rest for two weeks. Over the weekend, she revealed, “And that's like super serious bed rest, like get up to quickly pee and that's it. I would take baths twice a week, no showering.”

View Story“I was always, always bleeding. I'm about halfway through pregnancy and blood has been going for a month...maybe a little less than a month,” Teigen pointed out at the time. “But we're talking more than your period, girls, but definitely not spotting. A lot of people spot and it's usually fine. Mine was a lot. Every time I'd go to the bathroom, it would be blood, but honestly, just laying there would be blood. But today the big difference was that it kind of was like you were to turn a faucet on to low and leave it there. It was at the point today where it was, like, never stopping."
Chrissy emphasized opened up about having "weak placenta," telling her followers of her unborn child, “Basically, he's the strongest, coolest dude in the s---tiest house. His house is just falling apart. It didn't have a good foundation to begin with, though. He didn't have the strongest chance at the very, very beginning."
