Did ‘The View’ Just Find Abby Huntsman’s Replacement?
Earlier this year, Abby Huntsman announced she was leaving “The View” after nearly two years.
Now, could a familiar face be returning to the fold?
Variety reports Sara Haines will be coming back as a co-host in September.
Haines was a co-host for two years, from 2016-2018.
While a rep at ABC has declined to comment, Haines has been filling in occasionally as a guest co-host, even participating in virtual debates with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin during the pandemic.
Many fans have expressed their approval of Haines returning to the show. One Twitter user wrote, “She should come back to fill the empty seat. She's fun and smart and fits in well. She could fill in while Meghan is on maternity leave and then just stay.”
Another Instagram user wrote in May, “We need you back there as a host!!!”
In 2018, Haines announced she was exiting “The View” to host the third hour of “Good Morning America,” which was later renamed “Strahan, Sara and Keke.” That show was canceled in March.
