TikTok Star Siya Kakkar Dead at 16

According to India Today, Kakkar took her own life at her New Delhi residence on Thursday. Authorities told the outlet, “Siya died by suicide at her residence in New Delhi at around 9 p.m. on June 25. She lived with her family. Her family is in shock and has requested privacy. No suicide note has been recovered.”

Police are currently investigating and are trying to access Kakkar's phone to uncover any reason behind her death. They note that Kakkarr was dealing with depression before committing suicide.

Kakkar posted her last TikTok video on Wednesday. In the video, she is standing on a rooftop and smiling while mouthing to audio that has been edited in.

Kakkar's talent manager Arjun Sarin confirmed her death, writing on Instagram, “No more words You will always be the best artist Rest In Peace @siya_kakkar."

Photographer Viral Bhayani added, “Before publishing this I spoke to her Talent management agency head Arjun Sarin who just spoke to her last night for a song collaboration and he says she was in a good mood and perfectly alright. Even he has no clue what went wrong that she had to go this way."

Kakkar had been quarantining at home for the past few weeks during the COVID-19 pandemic.
