Sherri Shepherd on Dating in a Pandemic, Plus: ‘Mr. Iglesias’ Season 2

“Extra's” Billy Bush caught up with Sherri Shepherd, who opened up about dating in a pandemic, supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, and her Netflix show “Mr. Iglesias.”

Shepherd confessed she tried to social distance during a date and it didn't go well. “Billy, the dating is not so good. I went on a date and I sat in my car at Starbucks and he sat in his car and we just talked through the window… That's cute for five minutes.”

Sherri also touched on Black Lives Matter, and the need for people to be “honest and authentic” as they support the movement. She added, “You don't need to blast it out on Twitter, because sometimes somebody like me will correct you… Then you got to go on the apology tour.”

The actress also gave Billy an update on Season 2 of “Mr. Iglesias,” which returns June 17. Sherri revealed Elora Casados, who actually worked behind the scenes on the first season, will join the cast as Gabe's love interest.
