College graduation looks a little different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but students at HBCU Delaware State University are in for a special treat.
Billy Porter, Tina Knowles, Vanessa Williams, Erykah Badu, presidential candidate Joe Biden and many others will deliver special messages during the commencement celebration.
Watch Vanessa's touching message below as she dares students to be different, adding, "don't be afraid to have adventure and don't be afraid to be yourself."
The ceremony is set to take place at 12 p.m. ET on May 16 on the university's Youtube and Facebook pages.
Afterward, students are invited to take part in a second commencement ceremony, combining 75 HBCUs, sponsored by Thurgood Marshall College Fund. The event will be broadcast via ESSENCE Studios platform.
