Report: Jurnee Smollett Files for Divorce from Josiah Bell

“Birds of Prey” actress Jurnee Smollett, 33, and singer Josiah Bell, 37, are reportedly over after nearly 10 years of marriage.
A source told Us Weekly that Jurnee's attorney dropped off the divorce paperwork last week. There could be a delay in the proceedings, due to the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the nation.
The last time Jurnee and Josiah posted about each other on their Instagrams was six months ago. At the time, Josiah gushed on Jurnee's birthday, “In honor of my QUEEN'S special day, I'm going to let a clip from my upcoming EP #psistillloveyou speak for me. @jurneebell 'You're my goddess / From a touch of heaven's chosen…..' I love you my baby. Happy Birthday!”
To fuel more breakup rumors, the pair haven't made a public appearance together since 2018. Josiah was absent from her recent promotion tour for “Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.”

Jurnee and Josiah are the parents of son Hunter.
Years ago, Jurnee opened up about her relationship with Josiah. She told The Hollywood Reporter, “We were best friends before we started even dating, so we had this really great foundation. I think one of the challenging things about any lasting relationship is that you have to be so vulnerable. I think as human beings we try to hide our flaws and try to present this perfect person, this person we wish we were to our spouse when that causes so many troubles.”
The divorce news comes just days after Jurnee's brother Jussie Smollett returned to social media after a nearly one-year absence. Referencing COVID-19, he wrote on Instagram, “Quarantine day 421…Hope y'all are staying safe. Spread love and kindness… not Rona. Bro @davidmichaelott on [keyboard] (I swear Imma learn this before I walk outside).”
