Heidi Klum & Tom Kaulitz, Sick at Home, Are Tested for Coronavirus
Heidi Klum has been sick at home this past week, keeping fans posted on her health, including telling them that in spite of her symptoms, she had been unable to get a coronavirus test.
Though the coronavirus is a major, international, public health threat that has led to the cancellation and, in some cities, banning of large social gatherings, school closures, and other measures, the U.S. has lagged behind the rest of the world in testing. As of Sunday, at least 154,000 cases have been confirmed worldwide. That includes 2,700 in the U.S. — with 59 deaths.
Late Saturday, the supermodel and host, 46, updated fans, letting them know that she and husband Tom Kaulitz, 30, who is also feeling sick, had been tested — and were staying apart and isolated from others for the safety of all involved.
Posting a sweet video clip of the couple kissing through a glass door, Klum wrote on Instagram, "Like many of you, I also have been sick all week and, unfortunately, my husband who returned from his tour a couple of days ago is also feeling ill. To be safe, we are staying apart until we get the results of our Coronavirus tests (that we were finally able to get today) back. We don't want to spread germs and risk others getting sicker... even each other!"
Explaining the video, she wrote, "As much as I want to embrace him and kiss him, it is more important to do the right thing and not spread further. ❤️ These are strange times... but in these moments, you remember what's really important- the people you love and keeping them safe. Social distancing is what we all need to do right now to be responsible citizens of the world. We are all in this together and it is up to us to protect our loved ones, and our neighbors and our communities. Please listen to the officials and stay at home if you can and physically distance yourself from other people… especially if you are not feeling well. I see all the beautiful things people are doing for each other all over the globe and that gives me hope! Sending all of you love and positivity and healing vibes… together we can get through this but we need to be proactive so that we can all have a bright and healthy future. 🥰😷✌🏻🧼❤️ #socialdistancing #washyourhands #stayput #bekindtoeachother."

People reports that Klum had previously told her followers her illness “started all with a chill, feeling feverish, cough, runny nose,” and that she had tried to get a coronavirus test with two different doctors. She left the "America's Got Talent" set Tuesday and has not been back.
"AGT" is continuing to tape, but without studio audiences.
