Renée Zellweger Talks Oscar Win, Plus: Her Cancer Research Work
It was an unforgettable night for actress Renée Zellweger as she was recognized for her work with the Women's Cancer Research Fund at the org's "An Unforgettable Evening" event.
Renee spoke with “Extra's” Mark Wright about another amazing moment… winning the Best Actress Oscar for “Judy.” She shared, “It was a really special night, friends everywhere — it was really special.”
Zellweger was honored with the Courage Award for her efforts to raise cancer awareness. She pointed out, “It's really more about the work that this organization does and spotlighting that, celebrating them and the women that benefit from the advances the science that this organization has been funding for so many years.”
As for how close to her heart the cause is, she commented, “Well, we all know somebody, don't we? A friend or a family member. So I'm happy to be here.”
