Michael Douglas Talks Falling for Catherine, About His Sons, and More
“Extra's” Billy Bush hit the Riviera Country Club golf course in L.A. with Michael Douglas, who opened up about life at 75, falling for Catherine Zeta-Jones, what's up with his sons, and more.
The veteran actor said of turning 75, “It's a great time, Billy. It's really lovely. Catherine's lovely. Got your health. Kids are well. You've just been around long enough to appreciate it.”
Billy pointed out that Catherine is pretty good at golf, and he replied, “Yes, she is. She's a dancer, so she's got great balance. That was one of the great closers for me with her. I said, 'Do you play golf?' And she said, 'I love golf,' and I just went, 'Boom, boom, angels.'”
He went on, “Then, I found out we had the same birthday, same day, and then she said, 'I love golf,' and I said, 'What's wrong here?' Hard to find anything wrong.”
Michael, who is the father of Cameron, 40, Dylan, 19, and Carys, 16, gave an update on his sons.
“My son [Dylan] is at Brown,” he said, adding, “My son Cameron is out here with his acting career. He made me a grandfather… He has a great book, 'A Long Way Home.' He's been out of federal prison for about two years, but he was in for seven and a half. He's got a tough story to tell, but it's a really good book.”
Michael and Catherine were on the golf course for a good cause, raising money for the Motion Picture Television Fund. Douglas told Billy, “We've raised over $7 million.”
