Brad Pitt Dishes on His Friendship with Kanye West
On Wednesday, "Extra's” Renee Bargh spoke with Brad Pitt at the Los Angeles premiere of his new astronaut thriller “Ad Astra.”
When Renee called him “a beautiful astronaut,” the always-fit 55-year-old stayed modest, saying, “Yeah, well, I would make some changes!”
Brad recently opened up about some life changes to GQ, getting candid about fatherhood, fame, sobriety, and his commitment to religion. As for why it is important to him to be open, Brad said, “Man I'm just... I'm older."
He emphasized, “We're all alike... we're all a mess. Why have secrets?”
Pitt has been spending time with Kanye West, even attending one of his huge Sunday Services. He commented, “It's really beautiful... I think what he's doing is pretty special. It's this real celebratory thing of people and it's a really loving vibe and it's beautiful — it's huge, so beautiful. I find it really special.”
Brad also revealed how they became friends, saying, “Just running [into each other] through the years. I love that there's a Kanye out in the world, like, messing things up, you know? Envisioning the future and, you know, we can't forget his music. He was one of the first to come out and be raw and open — he should always get credit for that.”
In “Ad Astra,” Pitt is playing an astronaut on a mission to find his missing father in outer space. Did he need to prep a lot for the role? He shared, “Not that much, no. I mean, they really, they cable you up…the stunt crew tells you to spin around as much as you can, they find out where your point of nausea is, and then they say, 'Okay, we won't go that far.'”
“Ad Astra” is in theaters Friday.
