New Doc Makes Bombshell Claims About John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette’s Marriage

This month marks the 20-year anniversary of the death of the Prince of Camelot, John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife Carolyn Bessette, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, in a plane crash.

Now, a new documentary called “Biography: JFK Jr. — The Final Year” will unveil some never-before-heard secrets about the lawyer, journalist, and publisher.

The A&E doc was inspired by Kennedy friend Steven M. Gillon's new bombshell biography “America's Reluctant Prince: The Life of John F. Kennedy Jr.,” which is packed with rare photos and shocking details about John's life and marriage.

“Extra” spoke with Gillon, who opened up about John and Carolyn's troubles ahead of the crash.

Steven claims their marriage was “unraveling” and that John liked to smoke pot, while “Carolyn became more and more dependent on cocaine.” He also says being under a microscope took its toll, making her feel “hunted” and “trapped.”

Gillon thinks their final, fatal trip together to a Kennedy family wedding was “a sign that Carolyn wasn't giving up, and if she wasn't giving up, then John wasn't giving up.”
