On Monday, McDermott posted a hospital selfie, writing on Instagram, “So this happened last night. I got admitted to hospital with pneumonia, possibly meningitis. I've never been so sick in my life!!!! Thumbs up and spirits up though.”
Though he's wearing a breathing tube in the pic, it's not stopping him from promoting his "Daddy Issues" podcast. He ended his Instagram post with, “don't forget to listen to @daddyissuesshow this morning at 9am. @theperezhilton is our guest,” adding the hashtags #sickasadog #aintnothang#thistoshallpass #blipontheradar.
Over the weekend, Dean posted a video that he was suffering with a temperature of 102 after throwing his back out. He captioned the video, “Needless to say it ruined the family's plans to fly to Vancouver today to see @torispelling & @stylishslimebystella I tell ya, I'm going to be one ornery elderly person. I get really pissed off when I can't do things and move the way I want.”
In the video, he revealed that he injured his back while “bending over to pick up a towel to DRY MY FACE!!!” He also theorized that he had gotten sick from his son Finn, 6.

A source told People magazine that McDermott's fever just broke and he's “hanging in there.”
While Dean is recovering in the hospital, his wife Tori Spelling is filming the “Beverly Hills, 90210” reboot in Vancouver.
Though Dean isn't able to spend time with Tori, she is enjoying some bonding time with their daughter Stella. On Sunday, she posted a pic of their delicious dinner, writing on Instagram, “One of the most amazing dinners ever!”
