Child Star Mya-Lecia Naylor Dies Suddenly at 16
British child star Mya-Lecia Naylor has unexpectedly passed away at the age of 16.
According to BBC News, Naylor died April 7 after collapsing. No other details have been released.
Just days before her death, Naylor opened up about her love of singing. She told Tresa magazine, "I've been singing since I was about ten years old as more of a hobby but I did go to singing lessons and it was just something that I'd always wanted to do alongside my acting."
Her neighbor Nana Boateng opened up about her father's heartbreaking reaction, telling DailyMail.com, "He told me that Mya had collapsed. He was about to break down when he added: 'We've lost our baby.' I feel so sorry for them. She was such a young, happy and beautiful girl with everything to live for. My wife is so upset she can't stop talking about it."
Along with appearing in two teen shows on CBBC, she also appeared in the movies “Cloud Atlas” with Halle Berry and Tom Hanks, “Code Red,” and “Index Zero.” She booked her first acting gig when she was a baby in "Absolutely Fabulous."
The CBBC said in a statement, “Mya-Lecia was a much loved part of the BBC Children's family, and a hugely talented actress, singer and dancer. We will miss her enormously and we are sure that you will want to join us in sending all our love to her family and friends."
Naylor's “Almost Never” co-star Emily Atack reacted to the shocking news, writing on Instagram, “So shocked and sad to hear about lovely Mya-Lecia Naylor. She was a beautiful and talented girl.
