Amy Schumer & Emily Ratajkowski Arrested at Brett Kavanaugh Protest
On Thursday, Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski took to the streets of Washington D.C. to protest against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
While protesting at the Hart Senate office building, Amy was faced with a police officer, who asked, “Do you want to be arrested?” She responded while being taken away, “Yes.”
One fan posted a Twitter video of Amy giving a shout-out while being detained. In the video, she said, “Hi Zola, I'm here with your mom. She loves you very much. I think we're gonna get arrested, and we're so proud of you.”
Amy wasn't the only famous face to be detained during the demonstration. Amy's “I Feel Pretty” co-star Emily tweeted, “Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault. Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power.”
According to CNN, arrested protestors were given a citation and ordered to pay $50 bail to be released.
Kavanaugh has denied the sexual misconduct allegations.
