Bethenny Frankel Gives Update on Luann de Lesseps After Her Arrest
Reality star Bethenny Frankel is building her TV empire!
"The Real Housewives of New York City” star is teaming up with another Bravo fan favorite, “Million Dollar Listings New York” Fredrik Eklund, to appear on a home design reality show, “Bethenny & Fredrik.”
Along with talking about her new show with Fredrik, Bethenny also gave "Extra" an update on her “RHONY” co-star Luann de Lesseps, who was recently charged with disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Frankel, who has spoken to Luann since she left rehab, told “Extra” on Wednesday, “I spent time with her at a spa. We both decided for different reasons we wanted to have a healing cleansing weekend before her re-entry into New York. She's doing well. She's exactly where she should be in her mindset. She's not overly drastic with these unrealistic expectations, she's also not in denial…'This is what happened, I own it, I hit a wall, and I'm taking care of myself, spending time with myself.'”
She added, “I think she's really happy.”
Bethenny also reconnected with former frenemy and housewife Jill Zarin, putting their past behind them at the funeral of Jill's husband, Bobby Zarin, who died of cancer in January. She said, “When Bobby got sick, I reached out.” She was happy to be there for Jill at the funeral, saying, “I am really glad I went.”
On a lighter note, the 47-year-old is glad to be working with Fredrik to flip real estate, pointing out, “I think we are the reality 'Will & Grace.'”
Fredrik chimed in, “You've been saying that from the beginning.” Bethenny continued, “That's how I pitched the show.”
Bethenny dished, “We did have a lot of fun and we did cry laughing, but there was a lot of drama.” Fredrik said, “I think we thought it was gonna be a lot easier than it was in the beginning.”
The two actually had an epic meltdown while shooting!
Bethenny commented, “The show shut down for three weeks — we were in a holding pattern.” Fredrik elaborated, “We did not speak.”
Lucky for fans, they are speaking now, and it sounds like it will make for great TV!
“Bethenny & Fredrik” premieres Tuesday on Bravo.
