Ricky Martin on His ‘Massive’ Wedding Plans: Plus: The Truth Behind His Naked Photo
The new year is shaping up to be a big one for Ricky Martin!
Last night, “Extra's” Mark Wright chatted with Martin at the premiere of the highly anticipated “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story,” where he not only dished on the role but also his upcoming nuptials.
Martin has been busy planning his wedding to Jwan Yosef, which is shaping up to be one “massive” event. He said, “Definitely that wedding must come ASAP — we're planning already.”
Ricky hinted that the big occasion will be “at least three days of partying,” but he won't be singing at his own wedding. He laughed, “No, I want people to sing for me!”
The wedding is not the only thing he has to look forward to, saying, “Right now we're doing this series, I am releasing a new album hopefully by the end of the year, I am going back on the road, and lots of acting, acting, acting.”
In “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story,” Ricky plays fashion designer Gianni Versace's partner of 15 years, Antonio D'Amico. Of his role, he commented, “It is a very big responsibility, but surrounded by this amazing group of people, creative, Ryan Murphy for example and then obviously the cast, people that are so respected and so liked and loved. I was able to talk to Antonio D'Amico, the character who I played, and he was very generous and I'm very happy because everything that I bring to set was nothing but his emotions. It's going to be a very beautiful series.”
“It is intense, but it's real, it's raw, it's romantic at times,” Ricky dished. “I cannot wait for everyone to see it and I cannot wait to hear what the critics have to say.”
As for the Golden Globes, Ricky pointed out that he was touched by Oprah Winfrey's speech. He said, “The way she talked, we haven't been able to recover from that amazing speech.”
