Mark Hamill on Losing Carrie Fisher: ‘I’ll Never Stop Missing Her’
On Sunday, “Extra's” Renee Bargh was with Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, as the cast “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” came together!
The 66-year old got to work with and see Carrie Fisher's last performance as Princess Leia in the film. He said, “Well, she's wonderful in the movie.”
Still reeling from her death one year ago, Hamill commented, “It just hit me pretty hard. I had seen her periodically over the years. This was the first time we were spending an extended period of time together. There was a comfort level after all these years where she could relax. As tough and as verbally brutal as she could be, there was a real vulnerability there… I did feel a real protective attitude toward her.”
Mark reflected on how she was always having a good time, saying, “If she were here at this press junket she'd be behind you giving me the middle finger and horns behind you... Yeah, anything to get me to laugh — she was always fun.”
“I'll never stop missing her,” Hamill emphasized. “But I'm just grateful we had her for as long as we did.”
