Singer Jillian Hervey Has a Secret… Her Mom Is Super Famous!

Lion Babe singer Jillian Hervey is making her own mark in music, but who's her famous mom?

Earlier this week, Hervey made an appearance at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater season opening, where she opened up about her mom, former Miss America, singer and actress Vanessa Williams. She told Page Six, “Some people do not know who my mom is, and that is the main thing. I just want to come out and show people who I am, and if they figure it out, it is a fun fact later.”

“What we do is so different. She is a force of nature in her own right,” the 28-year-old added. “I just want to honor her by honoring myself doing what I feel is right.”

After Vanessa resigned as Miss America in 1984, she kicked off her music career with the debut album “The Right Stuff,” which earned three Grammy nominations. Her second album featured her biggest hit, “Save the Best for Last.” She would go on to tackle Broadway, television and film, too!

Aside from Jillian, Vanessa is also a mom to Sasha, Melanie, and Devin.
