Kathy Griffin's Sister Loses Cancer Battle

In July, comedian Kathy Griffin, 56, shaved her head to support her sister Joyce Patricia Griffin, who had lost her hair to chemotherapy while battling cancer. Less than two months later, Joyce has died of the disease, Us Weekly reports. She was 65.

View StoryKathy's sister died Thursday. On Friday, Griffin tweeted the message, "My sister Joyce passed away peacefully last night. Check out this beautiful moment." The tweet contained a video of her sister being serenaded in her hospital bed.
At video's end, a message of hope appeared: "This is where she always wanted to be… & now she's having a Mai Tai on the beach in heaven."
Griffin has previously lost two other siblings at early ages.
