Chris Cornell’s Daughter Performs ‘Hallelujah’ for Late Father and Chester Bennington
Toni Cornell, 12, put on a brave face this morning to honor her late father Chris Cornell and his friend Chester Bennington.
Cornell joined OneRepublic for a moving rendition of Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah” on “Good Morning America.”
“It's an honor to perform this for my dad and Chester and to sing for them,” Toni said. Watch the performance here.
Chris, the frontman for Soundgarden, committed suicide in May, and his longtime friend Chester, 41, of Linkin Park, killed himself on July 20, which would have been Chris' 53rd birthday.
Toni wrote a touching tribute to her dad for Father's Day that said, "I know you are still here, and the warmth I feel beneath the cold, is you. YOU ARE THE BEST FATHER IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD.” Read the full letter here.
