Martin Landau’s Cause of Death Revealed

Oscar winner Martin Landau died unexpectedly in Los Angeles earlier this month.
In his death certificate, obtained by TMZ, the cause of death is listed as hypovolemic shock with metabolic acidosis, intra-abdominal hemorrhage, and diffuse atherosclerotic vascular disease as contributing factors.
Hypovolemic shock occurs when a patient loses more than 20% of their blood, making it impossible for the heart to pump. The site confirms that the 89-year-old did suffer massive internal bleeding, which caused his organs to shut down.
At the time of his death, his rep revealed that Martin “succumbed to unexpected complications during a short hospitalization."
