Serena Williams Bares Her Baby Bump Like Demi Moore

In the issue, Williams revealed that she started feeling different a week before playing in the Australian Open. After taking a pregnancy test, the result came back positive. She recalled, “[I] did a double take and my heart dropped. Like, literally, it dropped.”

“'Oh, my God, this can't be — I've got to play a tournament. How am I going to play the Australian Open?' I had planned on winning Wimbledon (her third straight) this year,” she went on about her reaction to the baby news.

Serena eventually took five more pregnancy tests before it finally sank in. Now, she more than halfway through her pregnancy, expecting her first child with fiancé and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. She said, "It just doesn't seem real. I don't know why. Am I having a baby? I don't know what to do with a baby. I have nothing… I've done absolutely nothing for the baby room.”

News of the pregnancy broke in April, four months after their engagement, which she knew “was coming.” How did Alexis know that it was time to pop the question? He shared, “I felt like a door had been opened to a person who made me want to be my best self. I find myself just wanting to be better by simply being around her because of the standard she holds.”
