Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau Split, but It’s Not What You Think
UPDATE: Mary Kay Letourneau has filed a petition with the court to have Vili Fualaau's separation case dismissed, according to TMZ. Mary Kay's court docs do not give a reason for the request. Meanwhile, Vili's lawyer said her client plans to move forward with his petition.
Vili Fualaau, 33, just filed for separation from wife Mary Kay Letourneau, 55, but there is more to the story than a typical split.
Mary Kay is the former sixth-grade teacher from the Seattle area who was arrested in 1997 for having an affair with her 13-year-old student, Vili. She was 34 at the time and had a husband and four children.
Vili told RadarOnline.com that “everything is fine” between him and Mary Kay, and that he had to file for separation for business purposes.
He explained, “All the rumors that you hear between us. It's fine. Of course [we are still in love]. A piece of paper doesn't break someone's feelings!”

The professional DJ says he wants to become a licensed distributor of Cigaweed marijuana cigarettes. “When you want to get licensend, they do background checks on both parties. If I decide to be a part of it I have to be licensed and I have to be vetted and so does a spouse. She has a past. She has a history.”
Letourneau served seven-and-a-half years in prison, and went on to marry Fualaau after her release in 2004. They have two teenage daughters together, Audrey and Georgia.
