Selena Gomez’s Surprising Revelation: ‘Trust Me, It’s a Daily Struggle'
Selena Gomez is back in the spotlight and looking and feeling as good as ever. Last night, the actress and singer wowed in a creamsicle metallic cord-embroidered cocktail dress from Oscar de la Renta's Fall 2017 ready-to-wear collection at the Los Angeles premiere of her newest project, “13 Reasons Why,” which she executive-produced.
Selena opened up to "Extra's” Terri Seymour about her battles with depression and anxiety after her recent decision to take time away to complete treatment, confiding, “Trust me, it's a daily struggle.”
Asked on whom she relies for her support, Selena said, “My family. My little sister, who is 3.” The haters have helped her, too, she explained. “A lot of the people who have pushed me down have actually motivated me.”
Gomez was thrilled to be on the red carpet to talk about “13 Reasons Why,” raving, “I can't believe this is happening.” The Netflix show is based on the best-selling book that centers around a girl who kills herself, leaving behind damning audio tapes for the 13 people she blames for her suicide. “It's just so weird to think about creating something that you're a part of, but I'm not gonna be in front of the camera, which feels so good.”
The 24-year-old is still targeted by online bullies herself, but had this message for them: “I can't allow myself to believe the words that people are saying to me.”
Selena has found time for business and pleasure lately — she was recently spotted with her boyfriend The Weeknd in Buenos Aires. Selena makes it all work thanks to, “Balance. Balance is the key. Patience. Being kind to yourself. Having grace. I think that's important.”
