Nicole Kidman Explains Her ‘Seal Clap’ at the Oscars

Weeks after making headlines for her clapping at the Oscars, actress Nicole Kidman is speaking out!
At the star-studded ceremony, Kidman raised eyebrows with her unique way of clapping. One Twitter user wrote, "Why does Nicole Kidman clap like The Grinch?!”
On Thursday, Kidman finally gave a reason for her “seal clap." During an interview with Australian radio show "Kyle & Jackie O,” she clarified, “It was really awkward! I was like, 'Gosh, I want to clap, I don't want to NOT be clapping.' Which would be worse, right? 'Why isn't Nicole clapping?'"
"So therefore, I'm clapping but it was really difficult because I had a huge ring on that was not my own, but it was absolutely gorgeous, and I was TERRIFIED of damaging it,” she continued. "It's like, is there not more important things to be focused on than the seal clap?” Nicole emphasized.
