What Is the Fate of PwC Accountants Responsible for Oscars Snafu?
Days after the biggest Oscars flub in history, the future of the PwC accountants who were handing out the envelopes has been determined.
In a statement to “Extra,” a PwC spokesperson revealed that partners Brian Cullinan and Martha L. Ruiz have been relieved of duties at future Oscars, saying, "I can confirm that Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz remain with PwC, however, they will no longer work on the Academy Awards.”
"No replacements have been determined at this time. We are not in a position to put anyone on camera at this time,” the rep added.
On Sunday, Brian handed the wrong envelope to Warren Beatty, who was presenting the last award of the night – Best Picture. Onstage, co-presenter Faye Dunaway announced that “La La Land” was the winner, which was wrong. It took a few minutes before producers of the show rushed the stage and corrected the error.
Minutes before the snafu, Brian was tweeting a pic of Emma Stone, the Best Actress winner.
