Katy Perry Acknowledges Orlando Bloom’s Love and Support
Tuesday was date night for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom as she was honored for her charity work at the UNICEF Snowflake Ball. The two stepped out at the NYC event just hours after photos surfaced of Katy with a giant ring on that finger.
Though she wasn't wearing the ring on the red carpet, Katy gushed over her man, who has also been recognized as a UNICEF ambassador, to “Extra's” AJ Calloway. “I'm humbled. And I know that it's in the beginning of my work with UNICEF. Someone like Orlando, he's been an ambassador for 10 years and I've only been an ambassador for a few years, but I think it's a starting line and not a finishing line.”
As for Orlando being on hand to support her, Katy commented, “He's a very kind man.”
Last week, the couple took to social media over the Thanksgiving holiday in matching onesies. The pair celebrated Turkey Day in Santa Barbara with her family, including her sister Angela. She shared, “The thing is my sister has two children now. She just had her second child. It's a real big reminder to how vulnerable children are and how we need to help them. They depend on us.”
With Katy's generosity to the world, she was honored with the Audrey Hepburn Award. "You know, I'm a bit overwhelmed a little bit, and I'm humbled.”
Before giving her speech and being surprised onstage by Hillary Clinton, Perry joked about what she would say. “It's been swirling around in my head a couple weeks… I was always so bad at homework... I'm just gonna sing 'My Way.'”
