'Game of Thrones' Star Emilia Clarke Joins 'Star Wars' Han Solo Spin-off
From "Game of Thrones" to a galaxy far, far away... Variety reports Emilia Clarke has joined the much-anticipated "Star Wins" Han Solo spin-off.
Clarke underwent what Variety calls "grueling testing sessions" for the film, which is a standalone project that takes place before the action in "Star Wars: A New Hope."
She joins Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo) and Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) in the movie, which will hit theaters May 25, 2018, well after the December 16, 2016, release of the first "Star Wars" spin-off, "Rogue One."
Most of the "Game of Thrones" cast will finish their work on the next season of the hit HBO show by the end of this year, so Emmy nominee Clarke's work on the Han Solo film won't be a "dragon" the production.
