Jury Awards Hulk Hogan $115M in Sex Tape Lawsuit Against Gawker
Hulk Hogan has won his match against Gawker Media, and it's a knockout.
A jury awarded the former wrestler $115 million for the severe emotional distress ($60 million) and economic damages ($55 million) caused by Gawker when the website posted a sex tape of Hogan. The star had asked for only $100 million.
The X-rated video of Hogan and his best friend Bubba the Love Sponge's wife was viewed 2.5 million times.
Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, testified that the sex tape “turned my whole world upside down” and “completely humiliated” him.
He told the jury he is “not the same person” anymore.
Gawker is expected to appeal.
