X Games Legend Dave Mirra Dead at 41
Dave Mirra, a celebrated X Games icon, was found dead in Greenville, North Carolina on Thursday. He was 41.
Police told ESPN they responded to a report of an apparent suicide and discovered his body inside his truck with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had been visiting friends in the area.
Mirra, a BMX rider, was an X Games legend, medaling every year from 1995 to 2008.
He was also the host of MTV's “Real World/Road Rules Challenge,” and was featured in two video games.
Mirra is survived by his wife Laura and their two daughters.
