Kate Winslet Confirms Our Suspicions About 'Titanic' Ending
“Titanic” fans aren't going to like this! It seems Kate Winslet has the same beef with the movie as many other viewers.
While visiting “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the Oscar-winning film came up in conversation… with Jimmy accusing Kate's character Rose of letting Leonardo DiCaprio's character Jack “freeze to death” at the end of the movie.
“Titanic” buffs will recall that after the ship went down, Rose was able to climb onto a piece of debris, while Jack froze to death in the water as they held hands.
Winslet agreed with Jimmy, saying, "I think he could have actually fit on that bit of door.”
The theory was actually tested by the “Mythbusters,” who found that the couple could have shared the door if they used Rose's life jacket as a flotation device. Watch!
Jack's death aside, Kate also talked with Jimmy about reuniting with Leo at the SAG Awards on Saturday.
"People are always so excited to see Leo and myself in the same space, which at the end of the day, that's so lovely, isn't it?" she said. "It's been 20 years and people still get such a kick out of it. It's really quite endearing, and we do laugh about it."
Winslet added, "We were giggling about it [at the SAG Awards]. I was like, 'Oh my God, can you actually believe it that people still get so overwhelmed by the Jack and Rose thing?'”
