Caitlyn Jenner Gives Inspiring Speech at ESPYs
Famed Olympian Caitlyn Jenner took the stage for the first time since her transition to accept the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY Awards on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.
“The real truth is that before just a few months ago, I had never met anybody else who was trans,” the 65-year-old reality star, who wore a Versace gown, told the star-studded audience. “Now as you saw, I dealt with my situation on my own, in private. It's been eye-opening, inspiring, but also frightening.”
She continued, "This transition has been harder on me than anything I could imagine. Trans people... deserve your respect... With attention, comes responsibility. As a group, as athletes, how you conduct your lives, what you say, what you do, is absorbed and observed by millions of people, especially young people. I know I'm clear with my responsibility -- accepting people for who they are.”
Caitlyn's daughters Kendall and Kylie were also on hand to support her at the award show.

"fam blacked out" Kendall wrote on Instagram with a pic of herself, Kylie, Kim, Kourtney Kardashian, and Brody, who brought his girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter.
