Bristol Palin Opens Up About Canceled Wedding: 'This Is a Painful Time'
She was supposed to get married last weekend, but Bristol Palin and Dakota Meyer's Kentucky wedding on May 23 never happened.
Her mom, Sarah Palin, shared news of the cancellation on Facebook, simply saying the wedding wasn't happening, but family and friends would still be gathering for a BBQ.
Now, Bristol has opened up on her Patheos blog about the "elephant-in-the-room."
“I guess you have seen by now that the wedding — that was supposed to happen last weekend — was called off. I'm sure you've seen this has been all over the media, but this is a painful time for family and friends and I would just really appreciate your prayers.”
She also addressed her future with Tripp, 6, her son with former fiancé Levi Johnston. Palin said, “I know God's plan is greater than anything else, and Tripp and I are in Alaska beginning to rebuild our lives under much different circumstances than we anticipated.”
The 24-year-old ended the post by thanking fans for their love and support.
Dakota, who met Bristol on the set of Sarah Palin's “Amazing Alaska” last year, proposed at a Rascal Flatts concert in March.
