Constantly the subject of dating rumors, Foxx confessed he doesn't date others in Hollywood. The Oscar winner shared a funny story with Renée about the one time he tried to date someone in the business.
“A few years ago, the minute I went, okay, let me try some of this Tinsel Town, it was literally 102 temperature, a big premiere I was supposed to go to, and she said, 'What are we doing? I have my dress, there's going to be camera crew following me and what I've accomplished,' and I was like, 'If you want to go, go ahead and just don't come back.'”
The Oscar winner performed his new single for fans, “I'm Supposed to Be in Love by Now,” sharing that his daughter Corrine was the inspiration behind the ballad.
“My daughter was like, 'Dad, when is it that time? When are you going to settle down?' And so the song comes out, I'm supposed to be in love right now, looking at my life, and so it really resonates, and it's from a piano which I haven't really done on the other albums. this is a breath of fresh air.”
Foxx also explained the meaning behind the title of his album. “Hollywood is a bit of a mislead, it's about when I am dating a person, I think it's all great, and she went Hollywood on me, meaning she led me to believe it was something else. We've all had that in life — someone is with us and we are thinking this is what it is, and they go all Hollywood on us.”
Next up for Foxx is performing on “American Idol,” reuniting with his former “In Living Color” fly girl J.Lo. He recalled the first day he saw Lopez on the set. “I remember walking in on my first day at work, and I see this girl, she had on a suede brown dress, hair was curly and she was standing like a little deer and I said, 'Hey, I got a girlfriend, I just want you to know that, but you are the most beautiful person I've ever seen.'”
The singer continued, “To see her now, see what she's done, what she's accomplished and getting more beautiful, it's spectacular.”
