The Princess Spied: William and Kate's Daughter Debuts!
Prince William and Kate Middleton have made their first appearance following the birth of their daughter early this morning, standing before the press gathered outside the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital.
William brought little George, both of them decked out all in blue, to say hello, but George was too shy to walk up the steps on his own. According to the Daily Mail, when George did manage a wave to the cheering crowd, William told him, "Good boy."
Radiant mom Kate was dressed in lemon and yellow, looking very much not like she'd just given birth a few hours earlier.
The four will be alone together by tonight — the palace confirms that Kate and their new daughter will leave the hospital later in the day.
President and Mrs. Obama have issued the following statement on the birth:
"Michelle and I are delighted to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family, and all the people of the United Kingdom on the birth of the Royal Princess. On behalf of the American people, we wish the Duke and Duchess and their son George much joy and happiness on the occasion of the arrival of the newest member of their family."
