Video: Robert Downey Jr. Walks Out of Intense Interview with UK Reporter
A conversation between Robert Downey Jr. and UK's Channel 4 News reporter Krishnan Guru-Murthy turned intense when the journalist began asking about the star's past.
Guru-Murthy started by asking about “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and the “Iron Man” franchise, then changed course, asking about a quote that Downey gave to the New York Times in 2008.
Robert told the paper at the time, “You can't go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal.”
Downey calmly tells the reporter he's not interested in picking apart past interviews. When the reporter follows up with more questions about whether the movie star is a liberal, then tries to ask about his relationship with his father, Robert decides he's done.
The actor finally ends the interview by walking out, saying, “I'm sorry, I, I really don't — what are we doing? Bye.”
Just one day after the controversial interview, Robert was smiling and signing autographs for fans as he arrived for his taping of "The Late Show with David Letterman."
