Benedict Cumberbatch Marries His Sweetheart on Valentine’s Day
Actor Benedict Cumberbatch could be the most romantic guy on the planet right now.
The handsome “Sherlock” star, who is nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his role in "The Imitation Game," married theater director and actress Sophie Hunter on Saturday, i.e., Valentine's Day, in the south of England.
According to People.com, the private ceremony took place at St. Peter and St. Paul's Church in Mottistone, located on the Isle of Wight in England. A reception followed at Mottistone Manor.
Cumberbatch's rep confirmed the wedding news to NY Daily News. "Benedict and Sophie were married yesterday surrounded by their close friends and family. It was a magical day."
Cumberbatch and Hunter, who are also expecting their first child, announced their engagement in November.
They reportedly met while working together on the 2009 film “Burlesque Fairytales,” but it's not clear when they began dating. This is a first marriage for both.
