New Family Tragedy Strikes Luke Bryan
Country superstar Luke Bryan suffered another family loss when his brother-in-law died this past weekend.
People.com reports Bryan's brother-in-law, Ben Lee Cheshire, died Saturday at age 46. Cheshire was married to Luke's only sister, Kelly, who died suddenly in 2007 when she was 39. The couple had three children, who are now teenagers, and Cheshire had remained close with Bryan and the rest of his family after Kelly's death.
Bryan was due to perform and be honored at the CMT Artists of the Year show on Tuesday, but his publicist told People that he will instead remain with family in Georgia.
The country singer also lost his only brother when he died at 26 in a 1996 car accident.
Bryan once told People that faith has helped him deal with his family's tragedies. "Your faith has to get you through all that. That's not saying you don't question it. But you just have to revert to your faith in God's plan, that you'll be together again and that's what you have to go on.”
