Shock Report: Why Mama June Really Wanted Anna to Join 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'
Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell didn't grow up with Mama June, she was instead raised by her grandmother in the quiet town of Griffin, Georgia.
It was during her childhood visits to her mother's home that she was molested by Mama June's then boyfriend, Mark McDaniel.
So how did Mama June convince her daughter to move in with her years later for the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” show?
A source told RadarOnline.com, “June bribed Anna with money to move in with the family. She offered her $500 a month because she believed Anna's unmarried teenage pregnancy would create good storylines.”
If those were the stage mom's intentions, she was spot-on. Anna's pregnancy was prominently featured in the first season of the show.
These days, their mother-daughter relationship is strained. Mama June denies that she's dating her ex, McDaniel, who spent 10 years in prison for abusing Anna, but June has been pictured with him in recent months.
Anna told Radar, “I'm hurt. I think me and Mama's relationship may well be over.”
