Video: Melissa Rivers Shares the President's Touching Message About Joan
In Melissa Rivers' first appearance since the death of her mother Joan Rivers, she reveals that President Obama sent her a touching, handwritten message.
In a clip from the “Fashion Police: Remembering Joan” special on E!, Melissa explains to co-hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos that her mom affected so many, even those you would least expect.
She continued, "I received a letter from the White House, President Obama, someone who was often a target of her jokes, as was Mrs. Obama, but I received a handwritten note saying, 'Not only did she make us laugh, she made us think.'"
E! is airing an all-day “Fashion Police” marathon on Friday in Joan's honor, followed by the “Celebrating Joan” special at 8 PM.
