Amanda Bynes 'Gravely Disabled,' Psych Hold Extended
UPDATE: Bynes' parents have been granted a temporary conservatorship through September 30.
Actress Amanda Bynes will remain on psychiatric hold for another 30 days, says TMZ.
An emergency hearing for the “Easy A” star was held at the hospital where doctors made their case to keep Amanda hospitalized. According to TMZ, an extension like this is only granted if the patient is “gravely disabled as a result of a medical disorder.”
Amanda was due in court on Friday for a hearing regarding her parents' request for a temporary civil conservatorship, but doctors determined that Bynes was not well enough to attend. If granted, conservatorship will last through September 30. At that time, her parents can then request a permanent one.
