'Downton Abbey' Star's Wife Killed by Train in Apparent Suicide
Actress Briony McRoberts, wife of “Downton Abbey” star David Robb, was killed by a train in London last week in an apparent suicide.
McRoberts' body was found on the train tracks at Fulham Broadway station just after 8:30 AM on Wednesday, reports the BBC.
Her agent, Katie Threlfall, described the 56-year-old as “well-loved” and “vibrant,” and said Robb is “beside himself with grief.”
She added, "It's just a terrible, terrible loss of a wonderful woman. Nobody had any idea it was going to happen. She was a wonderful woman who had troubles and she will be very much missed."
McRoberts, 56, was best known for her roles in the Scottish drama “Take the High Road,” as well as parts on “Taggart” and “EastEnders.”
Robb plays Dr. Richard Clarkson on the PBS hit “Downton Abbey.”
