Julia Louis-Dreyfus on 'Leaning In': 'That's Absurd'
“Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is never shy, even when it comes to her opinions about career women “leaning in,” aging and cellulite! In a new interview with Health magazine, she's candid about all of the above.
As far as "leaning in" is concerned, the philosophy that women should consider embracing career opportunities even if they have children at home, Louis-Dreyfus thinks it is rather “absurd.”
“Of course you can't have it all,” she said. “That's absurd!… And I don't think that's an anti-feminist statement. I don't mean you have to sacrifice who you are or cower in a corner because of some stupid-ass glass ceiling. But if you realize that, then I think you can free yourself up to prioritize.”
Aging doesn't faze her either. She explained, “Getting older. It's like, 'Yeah, this is who I am, f**k off.' As opposed to, 'This is who I am, I'm sorry.'”
When it comes to cellulite, she's got it under control. “I try to push the worry down and pull the Spanx up!”
