'DWTS': Kellie Pickler Shines with Nearly 'Perfect' Performance
It was another big night for Kellie Pickler on “Dancing with the Stars.” The country singer nabbed the first 10 from “DWTS” head judge Len Goodman, and Carrie Ann Inaba praised her for a nearly “perfect” performance.
This week was all about Stevie Wonder and the veteran singer was in the house, wowing the crowd with live performances of “Sir Duke” and “My Cherie Amour.” The contestants danced to Stevie’s music with their partners and in teams.
Kellie and partner Derek Hough impressed with a quickstep to Stevie's "Part-Time Lover." Goodman called it “the best dance” of the season and Inaba applauded her “perfect posture, perfect nuance, perfect synchronicity.” Carrie did, however, point out inconsistencies with Pickler’s distance from Hough. The pair earned 29 points.
Although Kellie nabbed that perfect 10 from Len, she and Derek didn’t take the lead, instead tying with Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy. The judges loved the 16-year-old Disney star's “sharp and clean” cha cha with “slick hip action.”
Victor Ortiz came in last place with just 18 points after judge Bruno Tonioli compared his rumba to an “airline safety drill.”
