'DWTS' Finale Recap: The Top 3 Get Risky and Risqué
After ten grueling weeks, "Dancing with the Stars" is ready to crown its All-Star champ! Monday night, the top three finalists -- Shawn Johnson, Kelly Monaco and Melissa Rycroft -- hit the ballroom in full force, but only one couple received back-to-back perfect scores.
Former "Bachelorettte" Melissa Rycroft and partner Tony Dovolani, the only pair without a Mirror Ball on their mantle, came out on top with a perfect 60 out of 60. Rycroft's contemporary freestyle had judge Carrie Ann Inaba raving, "You took a humongous risk this evening, but with risks come rewards. You hit the jackpot!"
Actress Kelly Monaco and pro Valentin Chmerkovskiy came in second, with 59 out of 60. Their passionate Paso Doble earned the couple perfect 10s, but their freestyle to "Dirty Dancing's" "Time of My Life," "lacked originality" for judge Len Goodman.
Host Brooke Burke asked Kelly and Val the question everyone's been dying to know, if their relationship is "showmance or romance?" Kelly cryptically shot down the question, saying, "There's still another day of interviewing."
Gymnast Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough took a risk with their rule-breaking Quick Step, landing them at the bottom with 57 out of 60. Their freestyle though brought the US women's gymnastics team to the floor, ending the evening with a flawless and fierce performance, 10! 10! 10!
The "Dancing" All-Star champ will be crowned tonight on ABC.
