Elle Macpherson Won't Return as 'Fashion Star' Host
Model Elle Macpherson will be leaving her post as host of NBC's “Fashion Star,” when the show returns for a second season. Macpherson, who is also an executive producer, will focus on growing the international “Fashion Star” brand and other projects close to her heart.
"I have been involved with 'Fashion Star' from the beginning, and am very proud to see it come to life, not only in America but globally,” she said in a statement. “The show is in great hands, and although I will not be hosting this season, I will still be very involved as executive producer where we will be reviewing the format for the upcoming season.”
Elle is also host and executive producer of “Britain's Next Top Model” and EP of “Goddess with Guts.”
“Fashion Star” gives unknown designers a chance to compete for a multi-million dollar prize and the chance to launch lines with H&M, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue. Mentors Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos help contestants along the way.
