Andy Samberg Announces He's Leaving 'SNL'
A month after actress Kristen Wiig announced her departure from "Saturday Night Live," comedian Andy Samberg has stunned fans by revealing that he, too, will be leaving the hit NBC show.
Samberg told the New York Times, "It's an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life. Obviously it's not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back... (It was) one of the hardest decisions I've ever made."
The funnyman spent seven seasons on "SNL" and is the brains behind the show's star-studded digital short movies. He is perhaps most remembered for his "D**K in a Box" comedy video with Justin Timberlake.
Is Andy leaving to focus on his movie career? On June 15, he will star alongside former "SNL" alum Adam Sandler in "That's My Boy."
