Seal to Ellen DeGeneres: The Ring Stays On
Seal appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where he opened up about his split from Heidi Klum.
The singer said he continues to wear his wedding ring because he still feels close to Klum, adding that he doesn't plan to take off the band anytime soon. "Yes, I am still wearing my ring. I think it's pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have eight years. Just because we have decided to separate doesn't necessarily mean you take off your ring and you're no longer connected to that person."
He continued, "We will be connected in many ways 'til the rest of our lives, through our children and also through this tremendous admiration, respect and love we have for each other."
Although the two are trying to keep the split amicable, their multi-million dollar divorce battle has yet to begin. The couple secured a prenup before they wed. Klum, who hosts "Project Runway," Germany's "Top Model," has her own line of jewelry, and thanks to endorsements is reportedly worth $70 million.
The supermodel earned $12 million in the past year alone.
Seal is reportedly worth $15 million mostly due to album sales and tours.
The couple owns a home in Mexico (where they were married in 2005) and a mansion in L.A. worth about $13 million.
The cause of their breakup is rumored to be a result of Seal's hot temper and hard partying, and while there was no suggestion of infidelity, an insider said, "It was a long time coming."
Seal, who has been making the rounds promoting his new album, "Soul 2," recently took to his Twitter page and wrote, "The End."
