John Travolta Gives Kirstie and Maks On-Air Couples Therapy
After two consecutive weeks of onstage mishaps for Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, John Travolta -- who called himself the "Dance Doctor," paid a visit to "Dancing with the Stars."
Travolta, whose dancing talents have been seen in his films "Grease" and "Saturday Night Fever," showed up during Alley's rehearsals and assessed the pair's chemistry, asking, "What's going on here, romantically?" Kirstie quickly replied, "Nothing!"
The "Dance Doctor" pointed out, "That's the problem," suggesting they needed to address the "sexual tension."
The actor also recommended methods to avoid those dance disasters, referring to last week's shoe snafu when Alley's came undone -- and instructed Kirstie to wear a sneaker, "perhaps a high-top."
The special advice from Travolta seemed to help, as Kirstie and Maks scored 23 points for their foxtrot in a performance Carrie Ann Inaba called their "best dance so far."
